Thank you for the pointers. I think this can work for my next project. Can that teamviewer be used without anyone attending ‘the remote computer’ ? Say log in, log out of different users and such?

it was indeed a classic case of scamming among shady places such as Lucky and Sim Lim as well as Chinatown.

if you can identify the shop by any means you can make a noise to these people http://www.sgdi.gov.sg/ –> Stat Board –> Singapore Tourism Board

sorry to hear if you got scammed.

it’s ‘caveat emptor’ most of the time. so i am afraid not much you can do.

However, I suspect (remember that suggestion below is highly hypothetical)…
IF you have had been scammed so badly (e.g. huge amount, involves threat / physical injury, etc.) AND you happen to be able to identify the shop (e.g. name, address, memory, photo, etc)
and you bother to make a lot of noise to Singapore Tourism Board (google their address)
using your real name / identity / etc …
there might be small chance they can make it right.
